Our Publisher/Founder believes very strongly in the free flow of information and the precepts of organizations such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Net Neutrality movement. To that end, we’re very comfortable with readers using pieces of our articles without prior permission, provided you do one of the following two things:

  1. Link back to the article you pulled the excerpt from
  2. Click the “Repost.Us” button included on each article and use the embed code that generates

The “Repost.Us” tool was created by a team of people who believe that information should be shared across the Internet, but wanted to simplify the creation of backlinks to the originating site and allow said site to retain the Search Engine position it created by having original content.

We work hard to give you the kinds of articles you want to share, and while we’re loathe to pursue legal action we will do so to preserve the work that our writers have put into each and every article and piece of short fiction as it exists on this site.

To backlink, you can do one of two things — insert the logo below into the text of the post and link it to www.doctorfantastiques.com, or include a note along the lines of “This article originally appeared at www.doctorfantastiques.com” with a backlink to the article itself.

If you want to just use our logo in your sidebar with a link to the website’s mainpage, we’re OK with that as well. Remember, our mission is to report on the Steampunk world, and we want to get our information out to as many people as possible while still retaining credit for the articles we’ve written. So the short version is thus: So long as you credit us as the source of the material, we really don’t care how much or how little of our articles you use on your website.
