Doctor Fantastique’s Show of Wonders is an online and print magazine focused toward the worldwide Steampunk community. Our readership is currently spread across the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Central and Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and Australia among other countries. Because of this readership spread and our dual delivery system of print and web, we offer a unique chance for companies and individuals to reach the Steampunk community at large.
As a result, we offer several different advertising rates and contact packages depending on your needs. Note: These rates are effective November 1, 2011 to November 1, 2012. We will honor earlier rates if we have previously discussed them with you, but all new contracts must follow these rates.
Web Rates
(One Week minimum, unless otherwise stated)
Header Ad = $100
A Header ad appears in above-the-fold in a prominent position above the website’s header image, and is everywhere on the site. As such, we charge a premium pricepoint for that positioning. This ad can ONLY be a 468×60 image.
Sidebar Ad = $75
A Sidebar ad appears everywhere on the site, either above or below the fold, to the left or right of the main website content. Sidebar ads must be 160 pixels or less wide, but can be any dimension in length.
Article Footer = $40
An Article Footer ad appears below-the-fold at the base of an individual article chosen by the advertiser. These ads can be any height, but are ideally 468 pixels or less wide.
Bazaar Fantastique (One Year term)
Bazaar Fantastique is a section of the website devoted full of business listings of Steampunk companies and individuals selling their services to the community at large. This type of advertisement is designed for the person or persons who want to advertise on www.doctorfantastiques.com but don’t want to purchase advertising at the higher weekly rate. As a result, each listing in Bazaar Fantastique is a one-year term so everyone can advertise on the website.
Up to 50 words = $35
Up to 100 words = $70
Up to 150 words = $105
Up to 200 words = $140
Advertorial (Two Month term)
$750 for two advertiser-approved articles and two sidebar ads designed to the Sidebar Ad specs noted above.
Hosted Multimedia Content (One Week term)
We charge $80 per week to host a video or audio advertisement in the sidebar on our site. This is due to the decreased load time that can result from hosting multimedia content.
Please note all web ads must be 72dpi or greater in quality, and must be saved as a .JPEG, .TIFF, or .GIF file format.Videos must be provided as YouTube links or .AVI files, while Audio must be as an .mp3.
Print Advertising
(One Issue minimum, unless otherwise stated)
The print issue of Doctor Fantastique’s Show of Wonders appears 9 times a year in January/February, March, April, May/June, July, August, September/October, November, and December. We offer competitive advertising rates and a reach that promises your ad will be seen by convention goers in the U.S. and Canada, subscribers throughout the English-speaking world, and people purchasing single copies through our website. The advertising opportunities reflect this reach. Rates and options are as follows:
Back Cover (Full Page) = $600 (Full Color only)
Inside Front Cover (Full Page) = $450 Full Color, $300 Black and White
Inside Back Cover (Full Page) = $450 Full Color, $300 Black and White
Full Page = $200 Full Color, $150 Black and White
Half Page = $100 Full Color, $75 Black and White
Quarter Page = $50 Full Color, $37.50 Black and White
Business Card = $25 Full Color, $18.75 Black and White
Sponsorships
To “Sponsor” any part of our issue means you get 5 full page ads as well as a prime spot on the front cover for whatever term you choose to sponsor. Also offered is two to three 500 to 1,000 word articles about any product or service you choose, written by the staff of Doctor Fantastique’s Show of Wonders. The preceding applies to everything except the Front Page sponsorship, which offers you a voice in the cover design of your sponsored issue as well as prime advertising space and a line under the magazine name that says “Sponsored by XXXX.”

Bazaar Fantastique (One Year term)
The Bazaar Fantastique listings in the print issue are similar to the ones on the website, but are based on a line count instead of a word count. All prices are for a one-year term.

Advertorial
A print advertorial consists of two to three 500 to 1,000 word articles written on a topic chosen by the advertiser, as well as two full-page color or black and white ads bookending the Special Advertising Section.
Per Issue = $1,000
Contract Pricing
Discounts are available for bulk purchases of ads, i.e. One Month in the sidebar costs $225 and two issues of an Inside Front page costs $750.
