There is some challenge to writing about The Peculiar Pretzelmen; this band, after all, defies description.  They’re dark, gritty, and raw, which means listening with an open mind and appreciating the vision in their unusual musicality. It makes sense, then, that my first live experience with the band is taking place on a rainy and dramatic June evening in Fresno, California at Audie’s Olympic in the historic Tower District.
