Generally speaking, Steampunks are happy to hear about an event that neverwas. Just our cuppa, as it were. In the case of Nova Albion, however, we’d like nothing more than to see this party started. And too rightly, indeed.
Fortunately for all involved, whether as vendor, patron, festival goer, or otherwise, there is a call for aid! The core organizers need help to make great things happen, and who better to ask than the very Lords, Ladies, Pirates, and Punks themselves. Readers of Gabriel Colbaugh’s “Starting Out Steampunk” series, this is your opportunity.
From the organizing crew:
We thought we’d update y’all on the progress we’ve made towards staging a 2013 Nova Albion Steampunk Exhibition…
We had a little trouble nailing down space for the event, but at present we’re looking at early April 2013. The thing is, we really need your help to make it happen.
At present, there are three of us who are working to put the Exhibition on and of the three, two of us have had changes in our professional lives (as with all true labors of love, holding the Exhibition does not pay our rent) that will prevent us from having as much time to put the Exhibition on as we did in previous years.
Because of that, we’ve decided that if we can’t feel assured that we’ll have the resources to put on the Exhibition at the level to which we’ve all become accustomed to, we’d rather not stage it all all.
Here’s where we need your help. We know pretty much what has to happen, we just need extra hands to make it happen. Very specifically, we need 3-4 people willing and able to contribute 4-8 hours per week to the Exhibition in the months to come. We primarily need help in publicity, administrative tasks and graphic design/layout. We’re especially hoping to have volunteers in the SF Bay Area to help get the word out.
If you’re able to help, please let us know in the comments and we’ll send you a DM with more details.
Thanks for your help and continued support.
Sincerely,
Mark Anderson

Chris Newman
